Getting Started

Review the articles in this section if you are new to the UofG Online and want to learn how to get the most out of your courses.

I can't see any courses

Click on Explore Courses in the top menu and you will see all the courses which you can join.

Many of our courses are free to join and require an enrolment key. While others are closed for a specific group or cohort.

Please follow the instructions in the 'i icon'  on the course tile for further details.

Our courses allow you to enrol yourself.

  1. Log in to UofG Online
  2. Find the course using the Search courses option or the from the Explore Courses page
  3. Find a course that allows/accepts enrolments (add in how they see this - i.e. icon)
  4. Click on the course you want to join
  5. Select Enrol me
  6. Receive welcome email and Enrolment Key

For a quick access /  view of all the courses you have enrolled onto.

  • Click on My Learning from the menu bar. The listing of all courses you are enrolled onto will be displayed under the 'Course Overview' section of the page.   You can 'star' courses by selecting the 3 vertical dots on a given course and selecting 'Star this Course'.   You can then filter the 'Course Overview' block to only show your 'starred' courses.

What type of content might I find in a course?

Each course will have it's own specific content, but it is likely you will find the following:

  • Video
  • Audio
  • Discussion forums
  • Quiz
  • Article
How do I move through the course?

We recommend you click on the Start Here tile first.

To move to the first week/topic click on the link at the top-right.

All courses allow learners to unenrol themselves.

  1. Open the course
  2. Go to Course settings
  3. Select Unenrol me from this course from the More dropdown

If this option is not available, please contact the course administrator.

Please Note:  If you have contributed to a course, either via forum posts or contributions to other activities, there is a risk this work will be lost, so please be careful if choosing to use this option and contact the IT helpdesk for support if you are unsure.
